Borehole Logging
GEL Geophysics conducted geophysical borehole logging investigations of fractured bedrock at a manufacturing facility in Anderson, South Carolina. The geophysical logs included optical and acoustic televiewer, mechanical caliper, fluid temperature and resistivity, single point resistance, spontaneous potential and natural gamma. These logs were analyzed for fractures and other features. Heat pulse flowmeter logging was then conducted at the location of the fractures; first under ambient conditions and then under pumping conditions. The results of the investigation included a list of detected fractures with attributes such as depth, dip, dip angle and aperture, as well as analysis of the water producing capacity of these fractures under ambient and pumping conditions.
