Hart and Hickman
GEL Geophysics, LLC performed geophysical investigations at two former gas stations in Millen and Wadley, Georgia. The geophysical investigations were designed to locate underground storage tanks and subsurface utilities at the sites. A combination of time domain electromagnetic and frequency domain electromagnetic instruments, as well as ground penetrating radar, was used successfully to delineate all buried targets on these sites.
AECOM
GEL Geophysics, LLC performed several projects assisting AECOM with locating underground storage tanks (UST) and underground utilities. GPR, radio-frequency EM pipe and cable locators, and time-domain electromagnetic systems were used within the project limits. Based on the geophysical data collected, AECOM could successfully collect subsurface soil samples immediately adjacent to suspected UST's without risking any damages to USTs or buried assets.
TVG Environmental
GEL Geophysics performed a subsurface boring clearance project to support an environmental investigation of two former service stations in Nashville, Tennessee. The project included the use of radio-frequency electromagnetic, time-domain electromagnetic, and GPR technologies to detect buried infrastructure and search for possible underground storage tanks in the areas of planned environmental drilling. The results of the project were successfully used to avoid utility damage during drilling activities.
